The latest iteration of our platform, Version 22, is now available. This release includes the latest technical updates for Appspotr apps. This includes addressing the Google Play Store requirement on the Android API level and improvements to OAuth Logic.
New
- App builders can now pass a dataset item id from the add to dataset logic block. This will allow app builders to create logic flows based on the context of the newly created line item. For example, when a user creates a post or news item from a mobile or PWA app, logic can now be built to immediately trigger a push notification that deep-links to that new post or news item. Previously, this was only supported in the Appspotr CMS and the Content Manager application.
Improved
- Significant code updates have been made to enhance security and performance. These updates ensure that apps in version 22 will be compatible with the latest Android devices by utilising the Android API Level 35 endpoint. API Level 35 is required for publishing new apps to the Google Play Store.
- Deprecated the Auth0 logic blocks from version 22. The OAuth logic blocks can easily support all the use cases for which Auth0 is used. OAuth is also easier to use when configuring for multiple platforms such as Android, iOS and PWA. While apps using Auth0 in v21 will still retain the existing block when upgrading to v22, it is recommended to switch to OAuth logic in Appspotr v22. From Appspotr v23, the Auth0 logic blocks will be completely removed.
Fixed
- Resolved issues seen with the OAuth logic block so that it works as expected in all scenarios for Android, iOS and PWA apps.
- The navigation issue seen when the entry patch is a main menu and a view is connected to a context menu has been fixed in v22 apps.
- Fixed the border cut off issue in some views on selected devices.
